Amechi is a Fashion Designer and London Editor of Flux Magazine. His room is in a creative, cavernous shared warehouse, somewhere in Dalston. It was a cold Monday evening when I rang his doorbell, he was nowhere to be seen, so his friend let me in. I rang Amechi and he answered in his usual robust theatrical tone, I could hear the laughter of girls in the background, he was staying put, in fact he had not been home for two days – he didn’t care that I was stood in the doorway of his bedroom, he urged me to continue and apologised – loosely. His bedroom resembled Dennis Severs House – it felt weird, like he should have been there – light on, old-school oil radiator slowly releasing heat, half drank bottle of milk next to the bed.
